How
long have you worked with Kristian and how did it start?
Well, I've really only worked with Kristian 2 times, both were in London
this past November, 2003. But I've been his label mate for several years and
always loved his stuff and his bands. Useta see him with Rufus when they
played around LA before Rufus got too big fer his britches.
Had you heard of Kristian before you worked with him?
Of course! Who HASN'T?
What projects have you worked with him on?
Unfortunately, we only did a live show (of seperate sets) and we did a
lovely radio show in London where Kristian actually had to pretend to be Black.
It was on a Black-Panther-type station. Kristian was perfect; how he kept
from laughing I'll never know...Funny thing though, we actually covered the
Beach Boy's GOD ONLY KNOWS on that show. The show was called "What IS black
music?" Talk about chutspah.
Do you have a favourite Kristian song?
Yes! But I cannot remember it now. He played it in London at the 12 bar
and my girl and I just adored it.
Do you have a favourite Kristian album?
They are ALL favorites. How DARE you suggest I choose one! No, really? I
DONT LOVE MY GURU ANYMORE. That's a classic.
If you had to cover a Kristian song, which one would it
be?
"I Don't Love My Guru Anymore! DEJA VU!!!!
If you had to cover a song together with Kristian which
one would it be and
why?
Well, I would LOVE to cover THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT, with us trading
verses. I think that tune really makes people dance. KC always brought a
smile everywhere he went. Another song would be Cole Porter's FRIENDSHIP (the
one Lucy and Ethel Mertz sang but I personally like Ethel Merman's version, the
one she did with the guy who played the Cowardly Lion in the original WIZARD OF
OZ.)
What do you think is Kristian’s greatest musical
skill?
His ability to convey the IDEA and emotion of a tune thru his body languange
and voice. That, and the fact that he'll spam the shit out of you if you dont
come to a show.
If you had to present an award to Kristian what would
you say or how would you
introduce him?
Ladies

best?
