How long have you worked with Kristian and how did it start?
I’ve
worked with Kristian since the Fall of 1995 when I joined Ann Magnuson’s
band (Kristian was the keyboard player). It started that previous summer
when the jigsaw seen backed Kristian at an ABBA tribute show that we put
together.
What projects have you worked with him on?
I’ve
worked with Kristian in Ann Magnuson’s band, Rufus Wainwright’s band,
Dave Davies band in addition to numerous tribute and benefit show backing
bands.
What did Kristian do for Zenith?
Kristian
played piano on “Letter To The Editor” & “Whore Kiss”.
What
did you do for Kristian’s solo albums?
I
played electric 12 string and e-bow guitar on Kristian’s last album.
Did
you play on his new album ‘&’?
I
played 12 string on one track. I can’t remember the title of the song,
but it’s the duet with Stew.

Do you have a favourite Kristian song?
I like “Odd Man
Out”.
If you had to cover a Kristian song with The Jigsaw Seen which one would it be?
Probably
“Crocodile Tears”.
If you had to cover a song together with Kristian which one would it be and why?
“Green
Circles” by the Small Faces which we actually recorded as a single a few
years ago.
What was the best touring experience you had in a band together?
Being invited to
the Christmas party at the Governor’s mansion while in West Virginia
playing with Ann (Magnuson).
What was the worst touring experience you've had together?
Being stuck in
Customs in Canada while playing with Rufus (Wainwright).
What is KH like in the studio? Does he whip things off in one take, or does he work on something over and over until it's perfect?
Kristian’s pretty
meticulous in the studio, he works most things out in advance so it
doesn’t take long to get a good take.
What do you think is Kristian’s greatest musical skill?
Kristian’s
greatest musical skills are his songwriting ability and his very detailed
keyboard playing.
Describe Kristian the artist in three words.
“Over
the top”.
